Health care : Why there’s no change…

There’s change to do in our health care system and it’s obvious. We can talk about the 12 and more waiting hours in an …emergency, 6 months waiting time to see some specialists.Lastly I saw in Sorel-Tracy a line of twenty persons in front of a building at 7 o’ clock of the morning. They were waiting to buy concert’s tickets for Céline Dion? No, they were waiting to see a doctor. They were sick!

There’s a lot to do.Some european countries have good health care with mixed (private-public) health care system. We’re not trying to do so.Why?

Imprisonned political parties

The Quebec political dynamic since 30 years is about two parties: the liberal party and the Quebecois party.Who is talking about change is talking also about improvement of the situation for all of us.But he’s also talking about incomfort for somes specific groups.Quebecois party has the support of the unions, And the unions are very unpleased with any changes that would give more private in the system even if it’s the solution. That’s why there will be no change in the health care system with the Quebecois party.

The liberal party with Jean Charest is a power party. And he want to keep the power. He does’nt seem to agree to pay the price for the changes. He tried to make some changes smoothly with the’’ government reinginering’’(1) but the social disorders that came with that let him afraid.Worst, he goes ahead with the expensive french CHUM with no proof that it will be usefull.

The quebecers are waiting

The quebecers seem ready for some changes but they need a leader. The ADQ should take this and go forward! This party is not compromised with any interest’s group and get all the liberty requested.

1.In french: la réingénérie de l’ État
